My love for baking began at the age of 6 and by the age of 8, I was selling my homemade cakes to my neighbours. My mum would buy me all the ingredients I needed and I would spend the afternoon making a mess in her kitchen before walking up and down our street selling my baked goods to earn some pocket money.
As I grew up I dreamt that I would one day have my very own tearooms, selling my homemade cakes and serving tea in pretty vintage china cups. I hoped that one day I would find the perfect place to open my tearooms
In 2012 the idea to host a pop-up tearoom was born! At first I wasn't entirely sure that it would work but I knew that I had to give it a go. So I hired a charming Lincolnshire village hall and began writing a menu. I was a little nervous as the date drew nearer but I didn't need to be as it was a great success. We were really busy all weekend and I received great feedback from everyone who came, plus I had really enjoyed myself.
As word spread around I then began getting bookings for weddings and special events too, my diary was filling up fast.
Earlier this year I was offered the opportunity to buy the cafe in Tealby. I couldn't believe it was For Sale, I had been dreaming of owning this pretty little place for years. I new it would be a big project which would include renovation work but I jumped at the chance to have my very own Tearooms.
Renovating the Tearooms was a complete 'Labour of Love', it took much longer than we had expected it too but we had fun along the way! The day we were finally ready to open I was so delighted, it was just perfect and I could call it mine.
We now have a very special addition to The Vintage Tearooms family, Florence, a beautiful 1963 Fiat 600D. Florence will be available for hire for weddings and events.
I hope you enjoy looking at my website and I look forward to meeting you at The Vintage Tearooms soon. x
